Born in south London in the late eighties, Lyle got his start making low budget rap videos for a legendary New York M.C; taking up residence in one of the grimiest hotels on Times Square to get the job done.

His short film I Adore You for musician Goldie, starred Stephen Graham (This is England / Boardwalk Empire) and examined the parental struggles of an inmate within the British open prison system. The film would earn numerous music video nominations, with Lyle also receiving a Best new director nomination at the Kinsale Shark Awards.

A fascination for American street culture and the untold stories of the underworld heavily informs his work; short films such as Phanor (premiered on NOWNESS) document Miami's tragic gun war one memorial T-shirt at a time, whilst 78 on 79th (premiered on Channel 4) shines a light on the city’s gangster dentistry underworld.
